Goals
We’ve all heard it. Goals should be “SMART”- Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. So I’m building this page to keep myself accountable on my goals.
I’m going to break my goals into groups. For now, there are three groups- Household, Personal, and Automotive
Household:
H1) I want to place a flagstone (or brick?) walkway around the side of the house and across the back patio area to improve resale, usable space and drainage for the house.
H2) I will be putting in a retaining wall across the back of the property filled in to level the yard to give us more usable space and improve the house’s resale value.
H3) I’m going to build a matching fence across the back of our property (after H2 is complete- or more likely in concert with it).
H4) I want to run at least two new circuits through the house and I’d like to run a 220v circuit in the garage.
H5) I will be installing a compressor hose reel (This is very easy, I just need to set aside an hour and some cash) and an exhaust fan in the garage.
Automotive:
A1) I’m working on a design for a custom carputer to replace the stereo in my Supra. I want the entire thing to be a drop-in replacement in a double-DIN slot.
A2) My car is 16 years old and there are places where her paint shows it. I want to do a complete paint rescue. I have the tools, I just need the time and the space.
A3) I have friends who have converted all the interior lights on their cars to LEDs and I’d like to do the same. In addition, I’d like to do some lighting updates for my exterior lights to modernize the look and feel of the car.
A4) Replace Bertha’s alternator. Hers has a bad voltage regulator. This should be a quick win project.
Personal:
P1) I am going to build a sturdy, insulated dog house for Bella as well as an outdoor doggy bed. This MAY be a household goal but I’m doing this mostly to improve my abilities as a craftsman so I am making it a personal goal.
P2) I want to learn to weld. This one is pretty vague because I know there are a lot of types of welding but for now, “learn to weld” is plenty.
P3) I am going to learn to play guitar. I’ve been wanting to for a long time and I’ve never gotten around to it.
