Dude… wait… what?
OK so what I’m doing may be stupid but it may be awesome. It will probably be something in between.
Today is exactly one week until Thanksgiving. And today, I begin my weight loss plan in earnest. No, I’m not skipping turkey day but I will be eating a LITTLE more intelligently and working out a lot more over this break. I started a workout plan at work a couple weeks ago and I finally got things done right this week and lost some weight. Today I weighed in at exactly 250lbs. My goal is to be down to 225 by the new year. I’ll see how I feel then and decide if I want to keep going and maybe aim for 215 or even 200.
How am I doing this? More protein, less processed crap, more working out, and short-term goals that I can reach. None of it is rocket science and the only real willpower thing is ice cream. I LOVE ice cream. It’s the only super-sugary thing I actually like. I’m working on that and I have almost completely stopped eating after 8pm. Most importantly, I am working out more often and working out harder. Jake and I are working out together and having an accountability partner has made my working out much easier to maintain. So here it is- I’ll do my best to regularly keep our readers updated. Here we go again!

This is actually the BEST time to seriously start a weight loss program. Consciousness of what you’re putting in your mouth is very high while it’s all new, so you’re way less likely to gain weight like most of the people in this country will do during the holidays. I personally think losing 25 pounds during this season is overly optimistic, but it will be much easier for you (a young male) than for me (an old lady).

And having an accountability partner is a huge key, too. Especially one you don’t live with because they just make couch-sitting seem like a better idea at the time haha. By the time I get home (even if I don’t have class), Joe is already settled in and it makes it really hard for me to want to change clothes and head to the gym. Nevermind I just have to get on the elevator and walk about 50 feet to get to the gym…I just plain suck at my own accountability.
